A teen-aged girl in Sivaganga was awaiting rehabilitation after much of physical abuse as her tale unfolded a tragedy that throws up some of the darkest shades of human nature.

The 17-year-old girl should have been the most unlucky child as she as was ‘orphaned’ as a kid after her father, a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Jawan set ablaze her mother and went to jail, while serving in Rajasthan.

She was under the care of her aunt here little realising she has to face the darker side of life at a very tender age. After serving five-year jail term, the sacked CRPF jawan, Muthupandi returned home but only as a ganja and liquor addict.

He was desperate to buy the drug and liquor and began to collect money from shop keepers after threatening them.

As he could not spend a day without the stuff, he brought home his daughter from the custody of his sister with a devil’s mind, the beast within.

The little girl came home with no clue that she would be forced into the oldest profession of mankind at a tender age of 12 years by no less a person than by her own father.

The darkest shades of human nature began to unfold when police found that he not only brought clients to his daughter but also abused her.

The tragic tale of the girl came to light a few days ago, when her aunt lodged a complaint with the All Women Police, alleging that she was being abused by her father, brother Karthik and others. Acting on the orders of Superintendent of Police M. Durai, the women police arrested the father and son and remanded them to judicial custody.

The hapless girl told the police that she got accustomed to the lifestyle and never wanted to come out.

On being rescued, she was presently under the custody of district Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and admitted to a home.

The SP said the based on her confessional statement before a Magistrate under 164 Cr PC, further action would be taken against all those who abused the minor girl. The girl would be counselled and rehabilitated, Mr Sundar, District Child Probation Officer said.
