Captain Divya Ajith Kumar, who created history by leading the first ever all-woman Army contingent at the Republic Day parade in New Delhi, has just a few words for fellow women: ‘Do your best and be the best wherever you go.’
“In my four-and-a-half years of service in Indian Army, I have given nothing but my best”, Capt. Divya said at a function at Rajiv Gandhi National Institute for Youth Development, Sriperumbudur on Monday. She said her attitude and impulse to remain the best helped her to shine in her career in the Army. She was the guest of honour at a function held to mark International Women’s Day.
R. Bhuvana, journalist and filmmaker, discussed the issue of discrimination in the industry and S.D. Jayasree, who suffers from speech impairment, and is currently with the department of posts, shared her experience of training other women and helping them in getting employment. RGNIYD director Latha Pillai and registrar Jayalakshmi were present.
