A platform to showcase talent for college students

Creative talents of students came to the fore at ‘Rotarace Fest 2016,’ an event organised here on Saturday by Rotaract Club of Annammal College of Education in association with Rotary Club of Tuticorin.

It was inaugurated by D. Ganesh, college secretary, at Subbiah Vidyalayam Girls Higher Secondary School here.

The students participated in several events such as mime, slideshow, turncoat, face painting, rangoli, folk dance and short films. As many as 202 students from 12 colleges in Thoothukudi and Tirunelveli districts participated in the event, said A. Joycilin Shermila, Principal, Annammal College of Education.

While A.P.C. Mahalaxmi College for Women, Thoothukudi, emerged overall winner, Fisheries College and Research Institute came second.

At the valedictory function, T.P. Premnath, Territory Manager, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, and C. Muthusamy, Plant Manager, LPG Filling Plant, Thoothukudi, gave away prizes.
