The police have arrested a woman on the charge of abducting a businessman in July last.
Rajkumar (50) was running a glass business in the city. Gayathri (31) of Harur approached him for glassware and collected quotation for the same.
A few days later, Gayathri spoke to Rajkumar over phone requesting him to come to Attur bypass road for collecting the payment. When Rajkumar and four of his friends went there in a car, a group led by Gayathri abducted them. They wanted a ransom of Rs. 2 crore for their release.

Rajkumar and his friends handed over Rs. 20 lakh and managed to escape from them.
Gayathri and her associate Antonysamy alias Kalaignan (31) were arrested.
