Train services affected

Due to cyclonic weather conditions and heavy rains in different parts of Andhra Pradesh, train services between Vijayawada and Visakhapattinam have been severely affected.

The incoming trains from Andhra Pradesh side were subjected to several hours of delay as they were either diverted or rescheduled. Train no. 2760 Hyderabad –Chennai Central Charminar Express and Train no. 7644 Kakinada–Chennai Egmore scheduled to arrive on Friday (May 23) were fully cancelled.

On Thursday Train no. 2712 Chennai Central –Vijayawada Pinakini Express, Train no. 2759 Chennai Central– Hyderabad Charminar Express, Train no. 7643 Chennai Egmore –Kakinada Circar Express and Train no. 2842 Howrah bound Coromandel Express were fully cancelled and Train no. 2077 Chennai Central – Vijayawada Janshatabdi Express was partially cancelled between Nellore and Vijayawada.

Due to diversion, some trains which were scheduled to run via Chennai Central did not touch Central on Thursday.

Train no. 2434 H.Nizamuddin – Chennai Central Rajdhani Express scheduled to arrive Chennai Central on Thursday is expected to arrive at 10 am on May 21.

For the convenience of passengers, Southern Railway has set up a special information centre at Chennai Central railway station to provide information on train services affected due to cyclone in Andhra Pradesh.
