Taliban has no place in society: Vaiko

MDMK general secretary Vaiko has said the Taliban responsible for the killing of schoolchildren in Pakistan had no place in human society and they should be rooted out.

In a statement here, he said it was terrifying to imagine the final moments of the children in the hands of the Taliban, who had two years ago almost killed Malala.

‘Moved by pledge’

“I was moved by the pledge of the parents that they would not be cowed down by terrorists and will continue to send their children school,” he said.

Islamic Forum condemns killing The Islamic Forum for the Promotion of Moderate Thought also condemned the massacre. In a statement, A. Faizur Rahman, Secretary-General of the forum, said: “By no stretch of imagination, the savages who perpetrated this horrific crime could be called Muslims.”

The forum was confident that every Muslim condemned and rejected the extremist ideology that justified “brutal violence in the name of Islam.”

It was time Muslims intensified their collaboration with peace-loving people across the globe to just not intellectually and physically defeat outfits such as the Tehreek-e-Taliban but eliminate them for the sake of world peace, the statement said.
