Members of the Tirupur Exporters and Manufacturers Association (TEAMA) have decided to observe fast in the city on June 10 demanding a permanent solution to the prevailing industrial pollution in Tirupur knitwear cluster, and measures to regulate prices of cotton and cotton yarn.

Apparel production in all the 400 member units of the TEAMA, a newly formed garment exporters association in Tirupur, would be stopped that day.

A resolution in this regard has been unanimously passed at an extraordinary general body meeting of the TEAMA. The meeting also called for State and Central governments intervention.
