Surveillance cameras at Ervadi commissioned

District Collector M. Karunakaran commissioned the surveillance cameras fitted at eight spots in Ervadi on Friday.

To check the movement of criminals and avert crimes, eight surveillance cameras have been fitted at Ervadi and the policemen on duty will monitor the cameras round-the-clock from the control room established at Ervadi police station.

“Since we’ve fitted 3 cameras each at Ervadi bus-stop and Ervadi Kaikatti Junction and 2 cameras at LNS Puram bus-stop, police can easily monitor the movement of anti-social elements via these important roads, accidents, if any, and the crimes. Moreover, appropriate action can be taken within a few minutes if the situation demands,” Dr. Karunakaran said.
