Stalin, suspended DMK MLAs booked for entering TN Secretariat

Leader of the Opposition M. K. Stalin and other suspended MLAs of the DMK including Duraimurugan have been booked for violation of regulatory order inside the State Secretariat.

These cases have been booked by Fort Police Station Inspector for staging a dharna outside the Assembly and holding a mock Assembly session at the Secretariat. According to police sources, two FIRs were registered on August 18 and 19.

Following the suspension of Mr. Stalin and 78 other party MLAs for a week by Assembly Speaker P. Dhanapal, they staged a dharna against the decision and also conducted a mock Assembly inside the Secretariat premises.

These cases were booked against them under bailable provisions of IPC under Sections 143 (Being member of an unlawful assembly) and 188(Disobedience to an order lawfully promulgated by a public servant) on separate complaints from sub-inspectors Balu and Tamilselvi.
