Saplings distributed

Speakers at a function to mark observance of Environmental Protection Day organised by the Department of Forest and Wildlife here on Thursday, appealed to the students to plant saplings for protecting the green cover.

Chandra Priyanga, MLA, underlined the role of students in protecting the fauna and flora. The Forest and Wildlife Department has chalked out a series of plans for sensitising the masses to the hazards of non bio-degradable plastic waste. She also planted a few saplings of shade-giving trees at the school campus and distributed saplings to students.
