Review of electoral rolls suggested

The Chief Electoral Officer Naresh Gupta held a video conference with M.S. Shanmugham, District Collector from Chennai regarding the special revision of electoral rolls on Tuesday.

Mr. Gupta gave suggestions on conducting special camps for annual revision of the electoral rolls. He said all those to have completed 18 years of age on January 2010 should be included in the electoral rolls. Officials should go from door to door and check the voters in each house. They should identify the houses visited which could be verified by higher officials. Those who have moved houses and voters who have expired should be deleted from the list.

Thyagarajan, PA general to the collector was present on the occasion, said a press release issued here on Tuesday.
