Rain lashes Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri districts

Incessant rain battered Krishnagiri and Dharmpauri districts on Sunday. Thaly in Krishnagiri registered a maximum rainfall of 87 mm till Monday morning.

Due to this, normal life was disrupted on Sunday. Government and aided schools and government colleges remained closed on Monday as a holiday was announced by the district administration.

Rain water stagnated at low-lying places in the district. Many roads in the district headquarters were damaged. The main thoroughfare T.B. Road that leads to District Employment Office was badly damaged in the rain as water flowed through the potholes like stream from Sunday.

Continuous rain affected normal life in Dharmapuri district.

The rain, which started in the morning continued till 8 p.m. on Sunday. Many roads remained flooded. Water entered low-lying areas in the district.
