A woman, who was running a ‘clinic’ and treating patients at Velayuthampatti village in Natham block, was arrested on Tuesday.
The arrested was Rita (50) of Velayuthampatti. Acting on a tip-off, a special health team conducted a surprise raid on her ‘clinic’ and seized medicines, tablets, injections, needles and syringes stocked without proper permission.
With no medical knowledge or qualification, Rita was running the clinic and acting as a medical practitioner prescribing medicines and administering injections to the patients. Revenue and block medical officials accompanied the special team.
