August 07, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 09:24 am IST - NAMAKKAL:

With rain lashing nearby States, poultry farmers were asked to test maize, soybean meal and groundnut cake for moisture and mycotoxin before inclusion in feed production.

A press release from Agromet Field Unit of Veterinary College and Research Institute and Regional Meteorological Centre, Chennai, said that the sky would generally be cloudy with less chance of rainfall.

Maximum and minimum temperature would be 34 degree Celsius (93.2 degree Fahrenheit) and 24 degree Celsius (75.2 degree Fahrenheit) respectively.

Wind speed would be around 7 km per hour, mostly from west.

The release said that there was no possibility of the district receiving rain as the weather scenario would be conducive for egg production and growth in poultry. However, as rain lashed north interior Karnataka and parts of Andhra Pradesh, materials should be tested before including in feed production.

This would help in maintaining egg production within standards, the release added.
