The allotment for the airlines would be done by the officials at the headquarters. The airlines have to apply with the headquarters and then the bays would be allocated. The night parking charges are very nominal, he said. A fence around the new bays would be removed soon. The new bays would become operational in about two months time. With the completion of four bays, the airport has totally 62 parking bays, including the remote parking bays.

Work on another seven more parking bays is in progress, Mr. Hareendranathan said. The authorities are also planning to remove four parking bays to facilitate the construction of a new taxi track, which would begin soon.
