Minister inspects temple renovation work

Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Minister Sevur S. Ramachandran reviewed the progress of renovation work at Sri Arunachaleswarar Temple in Tiruvannamalai on Saturday.

95 per cent of civil work over, says HR & CE official

Tiruvannamalai: Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments Minister Sevur S. Ramachandran inspected renovation work being carried out in Sri Arunachaleswarar temple whose consecration is scheduled for February 6, 2017.

He inspected Kambathilaiyanar Sannithi, Kala Bairavar Sannithi and Yaga Salai which were under renovation. Officials showed him spots that required attention

M. Veera Shanmugha Moni, Commissioner of HR & CE Department, who was accompanying the Minister, said renovation work was being carried out at an estimated cost of ₹7.30 crore out of which ₹6.3 crore came from donors. ₹1 crore was spent from temple funds.

When asked about the progress of the work, Mr. Moni said 95 per cent of civil work and 80 per cent of electrical work were over. The remaining work would be completed by January 25. J. Haripriya, Joint Commissioner/Executive Officer of the temple, AIADMK district secretary Perumal Nagar K.Rajan were among those who accompanied the Minister.
