A 37-year-old man was arrested in Denkanikottai on Saturday for sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl. The accused Murugesan, a farmer, was arrested after he was found to have sexually abused his daughter’s friend. The victim was studying in an Adidravidar hostel. According to the police, the girl was visiting her friend at her place, when the man sexually abused her over a period of time. He had also taken her to Coimbatore on completion of her Plus I exams. The girl had returned home and was found pregnant. The accused was arrested following a complaint lodged by the girl’s parents.
