The Fast Track Court for Women on Thursday awarded life sentence to Manoj Kumar (25) of Chinna Dharapuram for murdering a 14-year-old girl. According to the prosecution, he had murdered E. Bharathipriya on January 7, 2015 when she was going to school from Arangapalayam to Chinna Dharapuram. Manoj Kumar, a mason, stabbed her to death as the girl’s father did not accept his proposal to marry her.
M. Gunasekaran, Judge, who found guilty of the accused, sentenced him to undergo life imprisonment and pay a fine of Rs.1,000.
