The Union Law Ministry has issued a notification for delimitation of constituencies in the proposed Legislative Council for graduates, teachers and local bodies.
A senior official of the Public (Elections) Department here said the notification was received by his department late on Thursday evening.
The Election Commission has also advised authorities here to start the process of preparing electoral rolls during October 1-6.

On Wednesday, the Elections Department issued two orders, specifying the educational institutions in the State not lower than Secondary Schools for teachers' constituencies and qualification for graduates.
As for the teachers' constituencies, arts, science, commerce, professional and technological colleges affiliated to universities established under the Acts of Central or State government and all universities/deemed universities, including university colleges maintained by such universities.
Besides, the order has given a list of 32 types of educational institutions including high/higher secondary schools, special schools, Pandit Training Colleges, Sanskrit Colleges, Arabic Colleges, Indian Institute of Technology, King Institute, Tamil Virtual Academy and School of Social Work, Chennai and Madurai.

The 31-page order on the graduates' constituencies recognises all degrees awarded by recognised universities/deemed universities that require a minimum of 15 years of study (11+1+3 pattern or 10+2+3 pattern) at the levels of schools and colleges.
The grouping of districts mentioned in the second draft proposal for the local authorities' constituencies has been retained.
In respect of the constituencies for graduates and teachers, no changes have been made.
