Lawyers boycott courts in Tiruchi

Lawyers boycotted courts and took out a rally in the city on Wednesday demanding protection for Tamils in Sri Lanka. A group of advocates led by the Tiruchi Bar Association vice-president Ganesan took out the rally from the Combined Court Complex to the Collectorate where they staged a demonstration.

The participants sought the intervention of the United Nations to protect the Tamils of Sri Lanka. They submitted a memorandum to a senior State government official at the District Collectorate.
