Karunanidhi returns to Chennai from Bangalore

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, who had left for Bangalore early this week, returned to Chennai on Sunday.

Mr. Karunanidhi, who went on a private visit, arrived here by a private airliner, official sources said.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission has convened a meeting of various political parties here on Sunday to take opinions on demand for postponement of the January 20 by-poll to Pennagaram Assembly constituency, following demand from parties including, AIADMK and PMK among others, in view of ’Pongal’ festival in mid January.
