Dharmapuri Collector distributes welfare assistance to beneficiaries

Collector P.Amutha distributed Rs. 17 lakh worth of welfare assistance at a mass contact programme held in Mookanur village in Krishnapuram sub-division in Dharmapuri district recently.

Presiding over the programme, Ms. Amutha received 41 petitions from members of the public.

After distributing the welfare measures she appealed to the people to become aware of the various schemes and their benefits.

It was for them to approach the right officials in order to avail themselves of the benefits and improve their standard of living.

Improvement in the standard of living of the people will automatically help in the overall development of the district, the Collector observed.

Various capacity-building programmes were being conducted for men and women through Mahalir Thittam with government support.

It was for the people to avail themselves of the opportunities to enhance their employability skills.

The demands for new overhead tank and crematorium facility would be established by the district administration through the departments concerned, she added.

Manivannan, Revenue Divisional Officer; L. Velusamy, Dharmapuri M.L.A.; Mani, Tahsildhar; and Mohan, President, Mookanur Panchayat were among those who participated.
