DMK ties up with MMK for Tamil Nadu polls

DMK has firmed up an alliance with Moovendar Munntera Kazhagam (MMK) allotting it one of the 234 Assembly seats in Tamil Nadu.

MMK will contest on the DMK’s symbol ‘The Rising Sun’, DMK sources said today.

Meanwhile, with the Election Commission announcing April 13 as the polling date, DMK chief M Karunanidhi will soon interview partymen who have sought tickets.

The DMK patriarch will meet party workers from March 8 to 13, party general secretary K Anbazhagan said in a statement.

Only those aspirants will be interviewed who apply to contest from constituencies to be fought by DMK, he said.

Mr. Karunanidhi will meet DMK workers from Puducherry and Karaikal on March 13.
