Cyclone alert remained to be effective for the second day here with the Signal No.2 indicating cyclone alert hoisted at the Port Office.

Similarly, the fisheries department had asked the fisherfolk to stay away from sea as per the bulletin issued by the office of the Commissioner of fisheries. Despite the sea weather warning pointing to a wind speed of 50 kms to 60 kms in the northern coast, the fisheries department was determined to hold good its warning especially after inputs of rough sea from the fisherfolk.

According to T.Umakantan, Assistant Director, Fisheries, the fisherfolk have been asked not to venture into the sea on Wednesday night as well. The weather remained pregnant and moody through the day.
