The Thiruvadanai Magistrate Court has granted conditional bail to two Muslim youths who distributed T-shirts with slogans in support of the Islamic State in Iraq and al Shams (ISIS) and a Tirupur Imam who procured the T-shirts.
Allowing the bail applications filed by Abdul Rahman, 24, and Mohamed Rilvan, 26, and the Imam S. Faizur Rahman, 27, Magistrate-cum-Munsiff Ilavarasi granted bail to the youths on Tuesday, and to the Imam on Wednesday.
Ms. Ilavarasi directed the three to appear before the court daily at 10 a.m. and sign the registrar until further orders. She also directed them to cooperate with the investigating agency.

Assistant Public Prosecutor P.M. Muniandi opposed grant of bail on the ground that they had acted in support of an organisation that was fighting against the established governments in Iraq and Syria. Those who were behind the incident could “brainwash other youths” into acting against India’s sovereignty.
Counsel for the accused said the police had questioned all the youths who had sported the T-shirts and posed for a group photograph and completed the probe. As the police did not seek their custody for further investigation, they could be released on bail.
The police arrested the two youths on August 4 under Section 7 (1) (a) of the Criminal Law (Amendment) Act (doing illegal activities and inducing others to engage in unlawful activities), read with Section 120 (b) of the Indian Penal Code (criminal conspiracy). Two days later, a special team from the district visited Tirupur and detained Faizur Rahman.
