Co-optex festival sale starts in Thanjavur

A Deepavali sales target of Rs. 3.53 crores has been fixed by the Co-optex through its show rooms in Thanjavur district for 2009, according to M. S. Shanmugham, District Collector. He inaugurated the first sale at Deepavali sales exhibition of Co-optex at Ramanathan Hall near old Bus stand on Tuesday.

Co-optex has seven show rooms in Thanjavur district. A sales target of Rs. 1.35 crores has been fixed for Kundavai Co-optex at Thanjavur, Rs. 45 lakhs for Pattu Maligai Co-optex at Thanjavur, Rs. 24 for Vairam Co-optex at Thanjavur, Rs. 56 lakhs for Mahamaham co-optex at Kumbakonam, Rs. 22 lakhs for Kurinji Co-optex at Kumbakonam, Rs. 27 lakhs for Cauvery Co-optex at Kumbakonam and Rs. 44 lakhs for Pavalam Co-optex at Pattukottai.

Silk saris from Kanchipuram, Arni and Thirubuvanam are on display in the exhibition. Other than saris, dhotis, carpets special pillow covers and school bags prepared by self help groups are also on display. Thirty per cent rebate is given for the products purchased in the exhibition.
