CB-CID begins probe into SVS college deaths

A day after the case relating to the death of three students of SVS College of Naturopathy and Yoga Science was

transferred to the Crime Branch CID, a team of officials from the investigating agency began their probe on Saturday.

Police sources said the documents and case diary files were handed over by the Chinna Salem police to the CB-CID team with the evidence collected so far.

CB-CID Superintendent of Police S. Nagajothi inspected the college hostel and the well in Bangaram where the bodies of the three girls were found.

The team is expected to file a petition before the Kallakurichi court on Monday seeking custody of Vasuki Subramanian, administrator of the college.

On January 23, three students V. Priyanka, T. Monisha and E. Saranya reportedly committed suicide by jumping into a well over alleged harassment by the management demanding “exorbitant” fees.

The families of the victims have alleged that the students were murdered and their bodies dumped in the well as they had confronted the management about monetary exploitation some months ago.
