Best teacher award in economics presented

V. Renuka Devi, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Economics, Ethiraj College for Women, was given the best teacher award in economics for the year 2009 at a function here on Friday.

M. Kaliyaperumal, Presidency College Principal, gave away the award, instituted by the Malcolm and Elizabeth Adiseshiah Trust.

H.B.N. Shetty, Executive Trustee of the Trust, read out the citation and said the award scheme was an effort to promote the study of economics.

Mr. Shetty presented prizes to winners of inter-collegiate essay writing and elocution competitions for students of economics.
