Arrangements at Tamil meet venue reviewed

Deputy Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Wednesday reviewed the progress of works relating to renovation of the PWD travellers' bungalow (circuit house) at a cost of Rs.2 crore and arrangements being made at CODISSIA Trade Fair complex, where the World Classical Tamil Conference is scheduled to be held.

He was accompanied by Chief Secretary K.S. Sripathi, Ministers Pongalur N. Palanisamy (Rural Industries and Animal Husbandry), M.P. Saminathan (Highways and Minor Ports), K. Ramachandran (Khadi), District Collector P. Umanath, Commissioner of Police C. Sylendra Babu, Deputy Commissioner of Police P. Nagarajan and PWD Engineer Karunakaran.

Dr. Umanath informed the Deputy Chief Minister that on completion of the work on installing a lift and renovation of circuit house with air-conditioned facility, it would have 30 rooms. Later, the Deputy Chief Minister visited Hall–D at the CODISSIA complex, where the Chief Minister is to inaugurate the academic session at Tholkappiyar Arangam on June 24 as part of the conference.
