Actor Prabhu Deva and his wife Latha have “agreed for a mutual consent of divorce” as “all the efforts taken by elders of both sides and mediators or solicitors are in vain.”
In a petition filed before I. Pandurangan, first Additional Principal Judge of the family court, they stated there was difference of opinion between them and they found it difficult and impossible to cohabitate. They have been living separately for more than two years.
The actor and his wife appeared before the court and filed the petition.

Besides offering to pay Rs.10 lakh as permanent alimony, Mr. Prabhu Deva has agreed to transfer two cars and property in Thirumangalam in the name of Ms. Latha.
She has agreed to the proposal and would not make any future claim or demand towards maintenance, alimony, either permanent or temporary.
Mr. Prabhu Deva will also settle a property in Injambakkam in favour of his children, Rishi Raghavendra Deva and Aadit Deva.

As regards this property, he and Ms. Latha shall be the joint guardians of the children and the income derived from it shall be shared equally by both the parties.
While agreeing to bear separately the medical, educational expenses of both the children, the actor would register a property in Andhra Pradesh in favour of them.
The actor and his wife stated that there was no collusion, undue influence, coercion or fraud in filing the petition.
