Whenever Centre announces projects, we should use them: CM

Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palanaiswami informed the Assembly on Monday that various road projects across Tamil Nadu, to the tune of ₹75,000 crore, was being considered by the Centre.

During a debate on the demand for grants for the Highways Department, the DMK questioned the need for the Chennai-Salem green corridor when several other roads were already available. In response, the CM said, “This road [project] is from the Centre. We should use them whenever they [such projects] are made available. That is our stand.”

Mr. Palaniswami said the government had been receiving requests from the public for the expansion of roads and the laying of new roads, and that the State government was taking them up with the Centre.
