4 Lankan Tamils shifted to Puzhal jail

The four Sri Lankan Tamils who were arrested on Wednesday after they abused and threatened State government officials at the Tiruchi special camp were shifted to the Central Prison at Puzhal in Chennai from here on Thursday.

The four accused – Uthayas, Bageerathan, Gangadharan and Nehru alias ‘Eezha’ Nehru – were taken from the Central Prison to Puzhal amid police escort, police sources said.

The K.K. Nagar police arrested the four who were housed in the special camp after they created a flutter by locking up the inner gate with Nigerian embassy officials inside. They abused and threatened the camp officials when they intervened. All the four have been remanded in judicial custody till March 12.
