Three Pattali Makkal Katchi workers — K. Saravanan (39) of Arakkonam, who is the Vellore East District PMK secretary, G. Karikalan (35) of Periya Thagarakuppam near Walajapet and V. Pichandi (45) of Melvallam near Walajapet — who were arrested in connection with the recent arson and violence, were detained under the Goondas Act on Sunday.
According to the police, Karikalan and Pichandi were arrested in connection with the burning of a bus at Kolatheri on the Walajapet-Sholinghur Road recently, while Saravanan was arrested on the charge of instigating the violence.
