For regular commuters between Coimbatore and Pollachi, there is an additional train service now. The Salem Division of the Southern Railway will introduce more passenger trains between Coimbatore and Pollachi from Monday.
The new train No. 06083 will leave Coimbatore junction at 5.15 a.m. and reach Pollachi at 6.45 a.m. In the return direction the train No: 06084 will leave Pollachi at 7.15 a.m. and reach Coimbatore at 8.30 a.m. Another train No. 06085 Coimbatore-Pollachi will leave Coimbatore at 6 p.m. and reach Pollachi at 7.15 p.m. In return direction, train No. 06086 Pollachi-Coimbatore will leave Pollachi at 7.45 p.m. and reach Coimbatore at 9 p.m.
These trains will be operated on trial basis for three months except Sundays and will stop at Podanur and Kinathukadavu.

The train will have six unreserved compartments and two luggage-cum-break van.
On January 14, the Salem division introduced a special train from Coimbatore to Palani by using the coaches of Madurai-Palani passenger train.
With the introduction of new special trains to Pollachi, passengers are seeking connectivity to Tiruchendur. Train No. 56769 Palakkad-Tiruchendur Passenger train arrives at Pollachi at 6.05 am and leaves at 6.10 am.

The arrival and departure timing of the Coimbatore-Pollachi train should be changed for the benefit of the passengers alighting from Train No. 06083 at Pollachi to take the Tiruchendur train.
