173 exhibits on display at district-level science expo

A total of 173 exhibits were displayed by students of various schools at the district-level science exhibition organised by the Education Department here on Friday. Students who had prepared various models, explained the principle behind their models.

The models, among other things, included utilisation of solar energy, hazards of plastics, utilisation of energy for various daily applications and dengue prevention.

The objective of the exhibition was to inculcate scientific temper among students and to promote their skill in learning the scientific principles.

S. Palanisamy, Collector, who inaugurated the expo, said the models selected at the district-level exhibition, would be sent to the state-level exhibition to be held shortly. Kasturibai, Chief Educational Officer, and P. Subramani, Additional CEO were among those who accompanied the Collector and explained the efforts taken by students in preparing the models.
