A total of 144 candidates would contest the upcoming polls from 10 Assembly constituencies across the district, Collector and District Election Officer C. Samayamoorthy said here on Monday.
In Palayamkottai constituency, 15 candidates, including T.P.M. Mohideen Khan- DMK, S.K.A. Hyder Ali- AIADMK, M. Nirmal Singh Yadav –BJP, S. Arumuga Nainar –NTK, K.M.A. Nizam Mohideen-MDMK, K.S. Shahul Hameed Usmani- Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) and S. Nisthar Ali –PMK are in the fray.
In Tenkasi constituency, 11 candidates, including S. Palani Nadar-INC, C. Selvamohandoss Pandian –AIADMK, P. Selvi –BJP, N.T.S. Charles –TMC, Seetharaman –PMK and C. Muthukumar –NTK are contesting.

In Nanguneri constituency, 16 candidates, including H. Vasantha Kumar-INC, M. Vijayakumar –AIADMK, K. Jeyabalan –DMDK, V. Manikandan-BJP, P. Thangeswaran –BSP, S. Thirupathi-PMK and E. Karvannan –NTK are in the fray.
In Ambasamudram constituency, 19 candidates, including R. Avudaiappan-DMK, R. Murugaiah Pandian –AIADMK, P. Karpagavalli –Communist Party of India (Marxist) –CPI (M), V. Sasikala –BJP, S. Eswari –BSP, R. Anbalagan –PMK and S. Thennarau –NTK will contest.
In Vasudevanallur constituency (Reserved), 10 candidates, including R. Samuthrakani –Communist Party of India (CPI), M. Nirmal Kumar –BSP, A. Manoharan –AIADMK, S. Rajkumar –BJP, K. Anbazhagan –Puthiya Tamilagam, K. Kasi Pandian –PMK and K. Palanisamy –NTK are contesting.

In Alangulam constituency, 12 candidates, including S.V. Anburaj –BJP, Hepzi Karthikeyan –AIADMK, Poongothai Aladi Aruna –DMK, Rajendranath –DMDK, P. Gunasekaran –PMK and R. Vasantha Ramalingam – NTK will contest.
In Sankarankovil constituency, 15 candidates, including G. Anbumani –DMK, K. Gunasekaran –BJP, M. Rajalakshmi –AIADMK, Amutha –NTK, T. Sadhan Thirumalaikumar –MDMK and S. Suresh Kumar-PMK are in the fray.
In Radhapuram constituency, 15 candidates, including M. Appavu –DMK, I.S. Inbadurai –AIADMK, K. Kannan –BSP, S.Kani Amutha –BJP, S. Sivanaintha Perumal –DMDK, S. Gurunathan –PMK and S. Lobin –NTK will contest.
In Tirunelveli constituency, 17 candidates, including Nainar Nagendran –AIADMK, E. Balasubramanian –BSP, A. Maharajan –BJP, S. Madasamy-DMDK, A.L.S. Lakshmanan –DMK, Ganesan Kannan-PMK and A. Viyanarasu –NTK are in the fray.
In Kadayanallur constituency, 15 candidates, including V. Kathirvelu –BJP, Gothai Mariappan –DMDK, S. Sheik Dawood –AIADMK, M. Thirumalai Kumarasamy –PMK, S. Muthuramalingam-NTK, K.A.M. Muhammad Abubacker – Indian Union Muslim League and J. Jabar Ali Usman –SDPI will contest.
