14 persons taken into preventive custody

Police stepped up vigilance in Tiruvannamalai district “in view of the current law and order situation in the State”.

According to a release, checking was carried out on Saturday and Sunday in places such as bus stand, railway station, hotels, and marriage halls in all the seven police subdivisions in the district.

The luggage of passengers in railway stations and bus stands were checked. Vigilance was intensified in all the 14 police check posts in the district and 944 cases were booked. Fourteen persons have been arrested as a preventive measure.
