100 country bombs seized in Koothenkuzhi

Police seized over 100 country-made bombs and four kg of raw materials used for making bombs at Koothenkuzhi on Monday.

Clash between groups

After the recent clash between two fishermen groups of Koothenkuzhi, during which country-made bombs were liberally hurled, the police conducted a surprise check in the village and seized 292 improvised explosives devices.

Against this backdrop, a police team, led by Valliyoor DSP Balaji, entered the village around 5 p.m. on Monday.

“We’ve seized over 100 country bombs and four kg of raw materials used for making bombs,” Mr. Balaji said.
