1.52 lakh voters added in Vellore, Tiruvannamalai districts

As many as 1,52,666 new voters have been added in the final electoral roll-2017 of Tiruvannamalai and Vellore districts.

Vellore District Collector C.A. Raman and Tiruvannamalai District Collector Prashant M. Wadnere released the final electoral roll 2017 of the respective districts on Thursday.

There are 13 Assembly constituencies in Vellore and eight in Tiruvannamalai. Special camps for the summary revision of the electoral rolls of these constituencies were held from September 1 to 30.

Based on the applications received in these camps to add and remove voters, to correct and change address revision of the rolls were carried out. As many as 95,670 new voters have been added in Vellore district and 22,258 names have been deleted because of death and other reasons. As many as 56,996 voters have been added in the constituencies of Tiruvannamalai district and 3,334 names have been deleted.

The final electoral roll of Vellore district has 31,03,522 voters (including 15,24,445 men, 15,78,977 women and 90 others). In Tiruvannamalai district, it is 19,58,580 (including 9,64,840 men, 9,93,697 women and 12 others).

Voters can verify their names in the copies of the rolls made available at revenue divisional offices, taluk offices, corporation, municipal, town panchayat, and panchayat offices, apart from locations of polling booths.
