Fast Track Mahila Court Judge J. Flora on Friday sentenced an accused to undergo one year rigorous imprisonment on the charge of sexually harassing a minor girl. According to the prosecution, R. Sathyaraj alias Sakthi (30), Alwarthirunagari was found guilty of sexually harassing a 13-year-old girl on August 24, 2013 in her house at Alwarthirunagari when she was alone. Based on a complaint lodged by Subramanian (48), father of the victim, Alwarthirungari police filed a case. The accused was punished under the POCSO Act, 2012. A fine of Rs. 3, 000 was also imposed.
