One person was killed and four others were injured when explosive materials went off in a cracker unit at Muthudaiyanpatti near here on Wednesday.
The explosion took place when the workers were making firecrackers.
The police identified the dead as Subramanian (60). The injured – R. Govindan (45), M. Pandi (18), S. Arumugam (48) and G. Murugesan (30) – have been admitted to Government Headquarters hospital here.
