With lot of enthusiasm, people celebrated ‘Kaanum Pongal’ at beaches and parks across the district on Saturday, a day after ‘Thai Pongal.’

A large number of people gathered at Roche Park.

Some made a boat trip to Hare Island, while others travelled to Panchalankurichi, where there is a memorial for freedom fighter Veerapandiya Kattabomman.
