Air India’s Boeing-787 Dreamliner planes continue to trouble the airline and its passengers as two such aircraft were grounded at the Delhi airport on Thursday due to technical glitches, officials said.
Air India replaced these aircraft with two other Dreamliners for the scheduled flights.
The first aircraft, flight AI-302 from Delhi to Sydney with 246 passengers was grounded after the pilots found a snag in the engine just before take-off. Air India immediately arranged another aircraft which left for the destination after a delay of 2.45 hours.

The second Dreamliner which was scheduled for departure to Birmingham from Delhi with 126 passengers experienced trouble when it was taxiing for take-off. According to officials the crew noticed that one of the doors had not shut properly and it was reported to pilots. The flight AI-113 had to be grounded as the engineers could not rectify the problem immediately. Stranded passengers took off for the destination in another Dreamliner after a delay of one hour, officials said.
Both the flights were originally scheduled for take-off within 10 minutes of each other.
