Security agencies have prepared a list of 10 most wanted terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir, who will be eliminated or taken down in targeted operations to be launched soon, officials said on Tuesday.

Riyaz Ahmed Naikoo, Hizbul Mujahideen’s chief commander in the Valley, tops the list, which is based on inputs from intelligence agencies, paramilitary forces, the Army and the police. He is involved in subversive activities that caused casualties among security forces and civilians, a security official said. The list includes Lashkar-e-Taiba’s Shopian district commander Wasim Ahmed alias Osama, Hizbul Mujahideen’s Anantnag district commander Mohd. Ashraf Khan, Baramulla district commander Mehraj-Ud-Din and Pulwama district commander Arshaid-Ul Haq, and its operator in Srinagar Saifullah Mir alias Doctor Saif.

Jaish-e-Mohammad chief operational commander in the Valley Hafiz Umar, a Pakistani national; Al Badr’s North Kashmir divisional commander Javed Mattoo; Hizbul Mujahideen militant Ajaj Ahmed Malik; and Jaish-e-Mohammad militant Zahid Sheikh alias Umear Afghani are the others on the list, another official said.
