SP govt. will collapse before 2017, says BJP

‘Rioters being protected on the basis of religion, innocents harassed’

The Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday said the Samajwadi Party government in Uttar Pradesh would collapse on its own well before the next Assembly elections scheduled for 2017.

The two-day meeting of the party’s State executive Committee was inaugurated by Union Minister Kalraj Mishra did so though party president Amit Shah was to do so.

Speaking at the meeting, UP unit BJP chief Laxmikant Bajpaisaid, “Youngsters should be vigilant against love jihad. Why is the government lenient to those who indulge in such practice? Have they got licence to convert the girls of majority community?”

He further alleged that “

Mazhabi raktapat (communal bloodshed) is the outcome of the policies of SP government. Protecting rioters on the basis of religion and harassment of innocent on the basis of religion is on.”

Mr. Bajpai claimed that the people of UP have already made up their mind to vote the BJP into power in the next assembly polls. “As BJP has sent an unprecedented 73 MPs (71 to the BJP and two to its ally) from UP out of 80 seats, it will naturally form the next government in the State ,” he said, and added there was a high possibility of mid-term polls in the state

Sectarian policies

Mr. Kalraj Mishra was more specific on his comments on ‘love jihad’ and alleged that the SP government was following partisan and sectarian policies. Recent examples of religious conversion of Hindu girls or their disappearance, particularly in western UP, were a major cause for concern, he said.
