The former Communication Minister, A. Raja, on Saturday said he would continue to press for an opportunity to appear before the Joint Parliamentary Committee to give his view on 2G spectrum allocation.
Talking to The Hindu, he said he was yet to receive any reply from Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar or JPC Chairman P.C. Chacko to his February 22 letter. He justified writing the letter to the Speaker as he was a sitting member of the Lok Sabha. Mr. Raja, DMK MP of the Nilgiris (Tamil Nadu), said in his letter that he was “willing and indeed anxious” to tell the JPC and through it, the nation, “the truth of the matter” which, he believed, was being “suppressed on [the] basis of pre-conceived notions, deliberate bias, faulty investigation and erroneous conclusions aided by media intent on sensationalism.”
JPC members belonging to the DMK and the CPI, and a few members of other parties too openly supported Mr. Raja and stressed that he be given an opportunity to explain his views.
