Probe sought into IAC’s source of funding

Says Kejriwal’s statements are full of filthy language and constitute a threat to the country’s security

Even as India Against Corruption (IAC) member Arvind Kejriwal came out with fresh disclosures on black money stashed abroad, a former Andhra Pradesh Minister moved the Supreme Court on Friday for a probe into the source of funding of the IAC.

In his writ petition, J. Chittaranjan Das alleged that Mr. Kejriwal’s actions and statements had the potential to cause a threat to the country’s sovereignty and anarchy in the society. It said: “The statements being made by Mr. Kejriwal which are full of filthy and foul language are against the sovereignty and integrity of the country, public order, decency and therefore liable to be restricted under Article 19(2) of the Constitution.”

The petitioner said Mr. Kejriwal’s statements and his act of burning electricity bills, illegal restoration of electricity connection and alleging judiciary of failing in discharging its duties amount to taking the law into his own hands which is pushing this country towards anarchy and degrading the values in the younger generation and demoralising and destabilising them. The petitioner said: “The kind of foul language and baseless accusations being made by him for his vested interests against the duly-elected government, democratic values and Constitution amount to sedition and creating a feeling of chaos among the citizens of the country.”
