Order on MP’s plea in cash-for-votes case reserved

A court here on Tuesday reserved for October 15 its order on a plea by BJP Rajya Sabha member Faggan Singh Kulaste, who is an accused in the cash-for-vote scandal case, for further probe into the “real beneficiaries” in the case.

However, the Delhi Police opposed the application, stating that this cannot be ordered at the behest of an accused.

Describing himself and his co-accused as “whistle-blowers,” Mr. Kulaste is seeking a probe against a very senior Congress leader. His counsel, Anil Soni, told Special Judge Sangita Dhingra Sehgal that the Delhi Police had “chosen to stop” further probe on the money trail and had failed in their public duty.
