Opposition creating discord by misleading minorities: Gadkari

Published - April 10, 2015 04:18 pm IST - Panaji

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has accused the opposition parties of trying to create a communal discord by instilling fear in the minds of people, especially minorities, about BJP as they cannot find any fault with the performance of the Narendra Modi government.

“The opposition cannot comment on our work. That is why they are creating fear in the minds of minorities against the government, party (BJP) and leaders,” Gadkari, the former BJP national president, said here last evening.

“When they cannot convince (people against BJP), they are seeking to create confusion...They try to create communal discord by pointing out that church or mosque is attacked in the BJP rule. BJP has no links with these incidents,” the minister asserted.

“Two youths who were caught in connection with the gang rape of a nun in West Bengal they were Bangladeshi Muslims,” he said.

Similarly, probe into the attack on a church in Delhi found that some inebriated persons had thrown stones at the structure.

“All these incidents are unfortunate, but directly or indirectly, BJP or any other organisation of our ideology or the Union government is not involved in them,” he added.
