The Union Home Ministry has confirmed that there is no formal allegation of sexual harassment against Justice A.K. Ganguly, the former Supreme Court judge and erstwhile chief of State Human Rights Commission.

In a reply to the BJP leader Subramanian Swamy, who earlier wrote to the PMO enquiring about the status of the case, the Ministry has said the law intern who brought the allegation against Justice Ganguly did not file a “formal complaint”.

A complaint was lodged against Justice Ganguly by a Delhi University professor on the basis of the information in the public domain, in this case the blog post of the intern. Justice Ganguly was accused of making sexual advances towards the law intern. Police said a blog post was ‘not enough’ and that a formal complaint was necessary, but the girl did not file one.
